Neeta Ragoowansi–Based out of New York City, Neeta has been an attorney and musicbusiness professional for over 25 years, serving as a strategic advisor, business developmentre source, and legal counsel to entertainment and tech industry clients. She is Senior Counsel, Legal & Business Affairs for Global Citizen, President of Music Managers Forum–US (MMF-US), a Global Co-Chair (Chapter Expansion) for Women in Music, Diversity & Inclusion Chair forthe American Bar Association’s Forum on the Entertainment & Sports Industries and Co-Founder of NPREX (National Performing Rights Exchange)-the first-ever online platform for direct licensing of performance, mechanical and sync rights. Prior to that, Neeta was founding head of artist-label relations and legal counsel for Sound Exchange, VP of Biz Dev/Legal for Tunesat, Asst. General Counsel for The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and a former board governor for 10+ years for The Recording Academy (Grammy organization). Neeta also serves on the advisory boards of IMMF (International Music Managers Forum), Gritty in Pink,IAFAR, SIM São Paulo, All About Music and SXSW Conference. Neeta has served as panelist/speaker at over 300 music industry conferences re: the global music business, legal and copyright topics, as well as women’s leadership and empowerment. Neeta’s passion for theV music business and law is founded on her own creative passion. She is a performing musician with the band, Oxymorons, and earned first prize in the Rock Category of the Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition (USA) as well as an honorable mention in Billboard’s Songwriting Contest.
